I have the chance of buying a Godin LG sp90 or Artcore af75 for very similar £££s , and looking for advice as to the better buy . I,m mainly a strummer but can also play melody , most of the stuff is MoR , I play through a Cube 60. My current guitar is a Stagg 300 jazzer.

Two very different guitars mate. Solid body vs semi-hollow. What are you gonna play? Anything heavy?
Me likes Godin so me no help.

I owned a Godin before (Freeway Classic) and currently own an Ibanez (Artcore AS93) and played an LG HMB, and the Ibanez is the better player. Through a Cube, you'll have nice tones too (I have a Cube 30 as well). I'd choose the Ibanez.

i just bought an LG SP90 and love it. Good cleans, grinding distortions. The Artcore will probably have better cleans, and inferior distortions. really depends on waht you want.

Go for feel first, everything else 2nd.
I'm biased towards godin's - great instruments, great quality, and canadian!

I think Godin's are you very good guitars but the ones I have owned have been hit or miss. Their quality control sucks. I have played some that are amazing and some that were just terrible. Frets not leveled, wired incorrectly. But I would take a good Godin over an Ibanez any day.

i've owned two Godins. They were my first two. One was a Freeway Floyd, and the frets while finished better on the outside than a Gibson I had, were not level. The other was a LG Signature which had some other problems with sustaining notes. I took both to a luthier and it was "replace the bridge and nut on the LG, and hope it's not the body." The Freeway was that I wasn't ready for a FR, and I couldn't get a decent setup on it.
I'd go with the Artcore.
