HI,

I know how to connect mixer to Graphic Eq to Amplifier, but there another way using inserts jacks that is located in mixer. connection diagram shows the insert jack in the mixer to Graphic Eq and return to mixer itself( i do not know how - looking into it).

What is the difference between 2 and when to use each setup and benefits of each? I am trying to use in live band. by the way, I have Behringer XENYX X2442USB mixer.

Thanks in advance.

If you are using the insert jack, the cable you want will look like a stereo or TRS on one end and the other side(s)will have two o1/4" mono or TS ends. One will be the send(tip) and the other will be the return (ring). The TRS goes into the insert jack, the tip/send goes to the EQ input, and the return/ring goes to the EQ output.
It functions like a series fx loop. Make sense?

Thanks for the connection instructions.

I will see what series fx loop is. Probably will not understand, but will see.

Thanks

There's no reason to worry about inserts for a graphic if you're using it on the signal to an amp, to kill feedback. Just put it between the mixer and the amp. You could theoretically put it in an insert, but there's no benefit to doing so, and it requires getting cables you apparently don't have. Inserts are more intended for effects or things that will only affect one channel or sub-mix.
