Just snagged this lovely PRS SE on ebay. It's the hard tail version of the Custom 22. It's been pre-ugraded with Tonepros wraparound adjustable bridge, American PRS McCarty pups, orange drop cap and Schaller locking tuners. That should make a damn nice McCarty wannabe. (I once got a real McCarty for son#2 when he graduated high school).

Price: that's the best part - only $405 plus shipping. Lucky me! I like this body style better than the single cuts. Nice finish too, don't ya think? Can't wait for it to arrive in less than a week. Smiley

I have never played a PRS, although I guess it could be said that I have never played anything well enough to count, but they certainly make some beautiful stuff. Congrats Zug!

Congrats! I've had a few SE's, I want a few more - great instruments, better price. On the used market, unless you want a different body style there's no reason not to get one.

I miss my SE singlecut, she was sexy!

Nice looking axe, I like the neck on those, that compensated tail piece always scared me off but from what I've heard they work just fine.

Just got it today. It's in nice shape for a used guitar: a few small nicks, pick swirls... worst thing so far is a stripped screw hole on one of the pickup rings. It looks nice for a glossy finish. I love how dark and consistent the rosewood board is. In general PRS SE quality is rather solid.

The compensated non-adjustible bridge was replaced with a Tonepros adjustable locking bridge by the former owner as one of his upgrades - along with mini-Schaller locking tuners and American McCarty pickups.

It plays like butter and sounds great through my amp. The neck feel is just superb! Perfect for me. I am really quite pleased. Smiley

update: the guitar had come with 9s. Who uses 9s on a 25" scale? So, a fresh set of D'Addario 10s... intonate ala strobostomp..., lower the pickup height.... and AHHH... no buzzing or rattling, just beautiful. Smiley

Found a PRS hardshell case for $60 via Craigslist. My straplocks are on the way. I'm all done spending, and very happy with the results.

Like you said before, the fixed bridge should be just fine, but I'm very happy with the TP bridge. It does sound good. I have all the gear necessary for recording but I don't have my act together in terms of learning how to do it right. One of these days I'll find the time to do that. All I need is a winning lottery ticket.
