As I have been cleaning house lately, I have ALMOST talked myself into selling the strat, and buying a 335 or something along those lines. I have the TS pickups in the strat and love the tone for blues, but for some reason the semi hollow sound just seems to haunt me. Which tone do ya'll like better for blues? Semi hollow, or strat.

Well, what do you expect? You start doing crazy stuff like cleaning house, you get these bizarre thoughts. Best to put down the Pledge and play guitar for a while.
And here is the final word on selling the Strat - my favorite guitar is my Tele, but if I were only allowed 1 guitar for the rest of my life, it would be my Strat. They are just so versatile. Now go and clean no more!

If it's a question of finances, I would keep the strat and get the semi-hollow down the road when you can. If you must choose one or the other, I would go with the semi-hollow.

My number 1 guitar is a strat (G&L Legacy) but my Epi DOT and my tele get equal playing time with the strat. The right guitar is the right guitar. By all means, if you have an itch for a 335, it won't go away until you have one. When you say "blues" the term is so broad and relative. If I were headed out to a blues jam tonight, considering effects are frowned upon in that niche, I would take the DOT knowing I can get a wide range of overdrive shades with that guitar through my Champ. The single could really need the oomph of the Egnater amp to drive and by then the tone and rig tips too modern for a true blues gig.

One of those questions only you can answer for yourself.
I had the 335 semi-hollow itch once and got myself an Ibanez A73. Upgraded with gibson 57 classic pups, tonepros locking bridge, etc. It played and sounded really super nice. Ultimatley I sold it though. It didn't get much playing time because it lived in the world between beautiful single coil clarity and great solid body humbucker heaviness. I spend most of my time at either end of the spectrum so... despite being such a good guitar it didn't really fit me.
And truly it's hard to beat a strat for versatility... though I've always preferred the sound of the tele bridge pickup to the strat bridge pickup. And of course, everybody and his brother has a strat...

I almost bought an Ibanez Hollowbody over the weekend, but I had sunglasses (prescription) and a new neck for the G&L to pick up this month so it has to wait. I'll be getting one and I've got a Super 58 to drop in the neck position. Well then there's a Tele I've been looking at, but I don't know... I'm thinking the neck pickup sound will be too similar to the G&L neck? I don't use the bridge pickups that often.

As the rest said, it's what sounds right to you, but here's my list in order of what I play and why:
#1: My Tele, it's like a roadster car or a hot rod, drive 'er like ya hate it!! It's versatile and plays fast, and does Blues nicely (but I wouldn't call it a Blues guitar.
#2: My Strat, has all the range for every tune and genre, plays Blues very nicely (for the overdriven tone or the clean tone).
#3: My Ibanez AS93 Semi-hollow, this plays very nicely on all tones and genres as well, neck plays wonderfully, and this guitar plays Blues the best! Clean, overdriven, whatever flavour you want for Blues, it does. If I was leaning on playing Blues more often than the other genres I like, this guitar would be #1 on the list!!

I'm selling an epiphone dot ES-335 w/ straplocks, leather strap and hardshell case. But it's pink.

I toyed with the idea of buying a G&L Strat ...... somehow it always come gown to Gibson"S and Ibanez. This new Gibson is a killer but I still love the Artcore. Next purchase will be another amp ...... as if I need another amp, but he new Gibson deserves another a new amp .... so I am looking at a Blues Delux or a no frills Mesa. I want to see if I can throw some black plates in the Traynor. At my age this is all quite ridiculous. I am wondering how much some of my antique Peaveys might be worth ... probably nothing.

The other question I was pondering, How much different would a 335 sound, compared to my LP? Pretty much the same p/u's just a lil different body. Does the hollow part make a huge difference?

And LP and a 335 are completely different animals. I have owned and play both. I prefer the 335.

You can substitute a 335 for a LP, but you can't substitute a LP for a 335

True... up to the point of a thick precussive metal tone. A 335 is not the right tool for that job, but a Les Paul will do it beautifully.

Good Point--I made the assumption BigDaddy doesn't play a lot of heavy metal

No doubt! I was just sayin'...
It's just that I'd hate to see BigDaddy disappointed if he tried to do an Opeth cover and he didn't get the tone he needed. That would be tragic.

Maybe you gotta head on over to GC where the smoke on the water posse hangs out and play some guitars. You may find you want or you may find you already got what you want.
Now about cleaning , do you do windows ? And what are your rates?
