Hi everybody! I'm new on the forum!
I just have a little question:
I want to buy a wah pedal to play with my epiphone les paul, I just dont know which one to choose between a vox and a cry baby??
I want to use it to play songs like Voodoo Chile and the solo of sweet child o mine for example!

Thanks a lot!

Welcome aboard!

If your decision is about those wha pedals, you might want to check the VOX Big Bad Dual Wah. Satriani (long time user of a 535q Dunlop wah) partned with Vox to deliver this pedals that can work as a regular Vox wah, and also deliver Satch signature sound, and everything in between I guess...

No disrespect meant, but Satch would put his name on a toaster and claim it will give his signature sound if he could make a buck --IMHO, the only way you get Satch's sound is to be Satch Smiley

lol I totally agree on that!
But the op might want to try it, not because Satch said he did this and that, but because the wah seems to cover some very options...
I'd stay with my 535q, but it would be nice to hear some real review about that new wah...

that's gonna be kind of tricky because voodoo chile has a definite vox sound to it and sweet child of mine is much more in the crybaby camp.

Go with a stock vox wah if you want a cleaner, more vocal sound. Go with the stock crybaby if you want the throatier, whinier sound with a little bit of "crunch" to it.

Or try the 535q as suggested. Its very tweakable and has been my wah for a while after owning both the gcb95 crybaby and the v848 clyde mccoy. The clyde wah was my favorite but its not as versatile as the 535q and it doesn't have a fuzz output buffer.

Thanks a lot for your advises!

I think I'm going for a cry baby 535q even if I find it pretty expensive! Smiley

Yeah, $50 via ebay got me a 535q and I like it a lot. Be sure to get a 9 volt model and stay away from the older 18 volt unit.

this rig requires something with a little more kick... plutonium!
