I went into guitar center about to buy a used Marshall Dsl 401. But after palying it with my sg it just didn't shine. The cleans were muddy and too bassy, the od1 was only good at high volumes, and od2 was like metalish and i dont play metal. So i was looking around for another amp and i found this one. Same price new as the used dsl and 20 more watts and 3 more speakers. Then i tried the cleans with my sg. Wow, even with humbuckers these were bright and clear. The drive was great for what i play and at volume 2 it gets great distortion. Very warm and on single notes has lots of bite. More drive put in some extra boost. Great for solos. Also, of course, the reverb was 100x better. So i was hooked.

What do you especially like about this product?
I love everything about it. Great cleans, and if you put the drive about 6-8 you can get a sweet jazz/blues sound. Crank the drive to 12 and you're at classic rock heaven. Use more drive for solos to really be heard and more crunch. And the reverb is spectacular.

What do you dislike about this product?
It doesn't have on board effects, but on board effects suck anyway. And this doesn't concern to me but if you play metal this isn't the amp for you. But it is great for clapton, led zeppelin, ac/dc and other classic rock and blues sounds.

A tone monster for blues and modern country...

What do you especially like about this product?
It's versatility. A foot pedal here, a minor adjustment there, and you've got a very comprehensive sound. It reminds me of the old Fender Bassman's.

What do you dislike about this product?
Well, it's a tube amp. Which in and of itself is awesome, however, in the recording studio, I tend to use smaller tube or solid state amps because by nature a tube amp usually has to be turned all the way up to get that distinctive sound, and this bad boy can get very loud very fast...
